Although I'm not overly obsessed with the turban craze this cover shot from QVEST magazine has deepened my appreciation for it.  What a gorgeous photo, loving the old school Hollywood vibe, the mix of reds is fantastic, the eye make is divine and the tan is dreamy....I think I want this as a print for my wall.

P.S. My friend James had the best birthday/dance party ever this weekend, it was actually a "dance off" and let me tell you it was on.  DJ Leif rocked the house, if anyone wants a party to remember check him out, you won't be disappointed.

I've been wanting to blog about the fabulous line Kendall K for a while now and as I was putting this post together I realized the 25th is my one year blogging anniversary!   Before I start gushing about my life changing blogging experience let's gush about the clothes...Kendall is one of the most talented emerging designers out there, not to mention she literally has the best personal style I've ever seen.  When I first saw her line I bursted out in delight, it's seriously amazing.  After graduating from FIDM in LA she designed for both BCBG and Arden B before launching her own brand.  These clothes are perfect for S/S'11 and with prices around $100 it's your deal of the week.  What's ironic about posting this today so unplanned is I'm the model....

Kendall has become a good friend, we met through our blogs!  I never in a million years imagined all that would come from this experience, from modeling to styling to the best times with fabulous new friends (and the dear ones out there I've never met but feel so close to...)  It's a blessed world and I'm grateful everyday to be apart of it.  I want to thank you my readers for continuing stop by, I'm so excited to see what year #2 has in store!

P.S. Check out Kendall's site to see all stores carrying the line, the clothes will also be available on line.

Inspiration

I'm really looking forward to summer (I assume many of you feel the same) and I've been talking a lot about my impending wardrobe with one of my besties Ashley.  Although I have such city style in my little beach town I'm ready to relax a bit in the coming months and incorporate a So Cal beach look that's not exactly boho but a bit of an off shoot with my personal touch.  The thing is I've been collecting shell jewelry for a while now and although this editorial is from 2004 (W Magazine) it's very relevant for what's going on in my head...I can't wait to mix strings of shells with gold chains, knit short sleeve sweaters with big vintage gold bangles and wood one's by Studio Surface and believe it or not I'm even contemplating a beach coverup similar to the dress above...let's just hope the weather cooperates!

Arizona Muse is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite models and everyone else's in the industry so it seems, this girl is on fire.  Love these shots, clothes & this incredible jewel and I swear that first photo made me do a double take, she so reminded me of Linda Evangelista.

P.S.  I got to spend time with Alexis & Brandi yesterday and it was an amazing.  Brandi made us homemade almond, nutella and plain croissants, they were out of this world!! This girl is a major foodie, if you are too you must check out her food blog pizzelles, it's incredible.

DVF Fall '11

These are my two favorite looks from the collection, the color combo is insane.  That first blouse made my heart skip a beat, loving the pants as well (they're so grandma chic) and this high fashion rockabilly look is fantastic, what a jacket!

This dress is pretty fabulous as well...

This stunning editorial from Vogue March 11 is taking my breath away and I want to dedicate it to three lovely ladies I hung out with last Wednesday.  Alexis, Grace and I finally met up with Samantha from Vintage is for Lovers and all their adorable children played together while the four of us chatted the afternoon away.  We may not have been in couture attire but the experience was quite enchanting.  Alexis' home, garden and art barn are magical and every one of these gals is so talented and inspiring, it was a great day.  I love the blog world, so much has come out of it and the friendships have been incredible to say the least.

Have a great weekend!

P.S.  Sam is one chic boho all natural goddess, she would look hot in that last outfit.

The sparkle and shine pieces were the stand outs for me in this collection, they'll dazzle a room without taking it over which is a great way to make a statement while staying classy...

The Mulleavy sisters have done it again creating totally unique and beautiful clothes for Fall '11.  They were influenced by the 1978 movie Days of Heaven about two young lovers navigating their way to the Texas Panhandle to pick crops which created a very modern prairie look that ran through the collection. This style they captured might not be for everyone but these particular looks were my favorites and I found them to be refreshing and alive while paying homage to the past, not an easy feat to accomplish and they did so with true artistry and amazing craftsmanship.  Oh and the shoes designed by Nicholas Kirkwood are divine.

Here's just a few, I've been collecting a lot lately and I'm trying to find the time to shoot them all!   These big ornate flower pins so remind me of Haydee from Happenstance when we first met years ago...back then she wore a big flower in her hair everyday, I loved it.

Shop out my entire collection here.

Rachel Zoe debuted her first full collection for Fall '11 and it was definitely chic, 70's inspired (no shock here) and influenced by YSL, Burberry and even a bit of McQueen (one dress not shown).  The color palette is fabulous and I'm so drawn to the suits and these last two casual looks, she certainly knows how to make a great faux fur vest (the only kind for me).  I think her styling skills did her a great service in creating beautiful, wearable clothes that work well for many women.  Here's a link to the entire collection, for those who love boho chic there's plenty to choose from as well as a selection of dresses.  Let me know what you think.
